Restoring the millpond wall at Coldharbour Mill
Neroche Conservation Volunteers will be carrying out a trail renovation of the millpond wall as part of a major new restoration project on the old millpond and surrounding grounds of the historic Coldharbour Mill, Uffculme, a major conservation project supported by Blackdown Hills Natural Futures. Miracle Theatre – The Cherry Orchard
Open Air Theatre at Smeatharpe Stadium. This summer, Miracle Theatre Company unpacks Chekhov’s bittersweet comedy about a once-wealthy family, whose idleness and extravagance have brought them to the brink of bankruptcy. Obstinate and self-absorbed, they are deaf to the rumblings of change which surrounds them, and unable to accept help when they need it.
Volunteering at Young Wood community woodland
The group will be generally improving the site facilities for use by groups spending time in the forest for bush-craft and wood-crafts. We are aiming to improve habitats for wildlife, manage woodland in a traditional way, and improve the infrastructure of simple shelters and workspaces on the site.

Butterfly habitat monitoring and bracken cutting
Working on the Blackdown Hills Trust site at Keepers Field (near Wych Lodge) carrying out butterfly habitat monitoring and bracken cutting in the butterfly glades.
Discovering Dragonflies project launch
A host of dragonfly themed activities including free bookable sessions on willow weaving, jewellery making and junk modelling. There is also pond dipping, a special dragonfly trail, and drop in crafts, Most of the activities will be undercover, so a great day out, whatever the weather.
