SUMMARY:Hembury Hillfort Clearance - volunteering day
DESCRIPTION:Join Devon Archaeological Society for some scrub clearance\, socialising\, and a tour of Hembury Hillfort. \nThe work will not be particularly strenuous: mainly cutting off small saplings and brambles at ground level to discourage growth.  However\, there will be a certain amount of walking involved and working on sloping and uneven ground. Participants are asked to bring their own secateurs or hand tools with which they feel comfortable working\, gloves and boots (and waterproofs if necessary!)\, and their own lunch and refreshments. \nMeet at Witness Moor car park (ST112033) at 10.30 on Sunday morning. Volunteers are likely to be on site until about 3.30 but you are welcome to come for as long as you wish. \nPlease email hembury@devonarchaeologicalsociety.org.uk if you would like to come. It would be helpful if you could give a telephone number in case arrangements change at short notice. \n
