DESCRIPTION:Working together for the future health of our rivers\nBlackdown Hills AONB has teamed up with the East Devon Catchment Partnership to host a conference on the river catchments of the Axe (including Yarty)\, Otter\, Culm and Clyst. \nThe Catchment Communities conference to be held near Honiton will bring together community representatives\, landowners and managers\, along with practitioners from the East Devon Catchment Partnership. \nThere will be talks and workshops on natural flood management\, the water industry\, species recovery\, habitats\, community engagement\, leisure and tourism. \nIt will provide an opportunity for delegates to: \n\nLearn about collaborative projects already underway to tackle issues like flood prevention and water quality\nShare experiences and success stories\nTalk to decision makers about the issues that affect local communities\nHelp develop fresh approaches and come up with ideas for collaborative projects\nForge alliances for the future.\n\nKeynote speaker: Neil Parish MP\nComplimentary lunch and refreshments provided. \nFollowing the conference there will be an optional hour-long tour taking in part of the 80-acre grounds and River Otter at Deer Park Country House Hotel. \nThe conference is sponsored by: \n\nBlackdown Hills AONB Partnership\nEast Devon Catchment Partnership\nDeer Park Country House Hotel\nSouth West Water\nClinton Devon Estates\n\nIf you manage land\, represent your local community\, or if your work involves rivers or river catchments\, and you’d be interested in coming along\, please email blackdownhills@devon.gov.uk.
