DESCRIPTION:\nJoin Bill Horner\, Devon County Archaeologist\, for a guided walk around Hembury Hillfort\, Devon’s most spectacular Iron Age hillfort. \n\n\nPositioned on a prominent spur of the Blackdown Hills\, Hembury’s massive earthen ramparts and ditches date from the mid-first millennium BC and create a striking landmark with commanding views across the surrounding countryside. \nHembury is owned and cared for by the Devon Archaeological Society. \nWe will meet at the Witness Moor car park. The car park is on the opposite side of the road to Hembury Hillfort.
