SUMMARY:Beavers in the Blackdown Hills
DESCRIPTION:Jake Chant is the Beaver Field Officer for Devon Wildlife Trust. Jake monitors the beavers across the River Otter \nGroup looking for beavers \ncatchment and works with landowners to manage the impacts of beavers as and when it’s necessary to do so. In August this year\, the Government announced that the beavers can remain in the River Otter and spread naturally. The talk will include findings from the five-year River Otter Beaver Trial as well as how members of the public can help to keep a look-out for signs of beavers spreading into neighbouring catchments. The talk will also cover how we can learn to live with a species after an absence in our landscape for 400 years. \nA 40 minute talk with 15mins for questions. Online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Book on here.  A link to the session will be emailed out on the morning of the event. \n
